CBI Cares

Chicago Backflow proudly serves and supports these non-profit and charitable organizations in our communities.

Founded with one purpose – to nourish our neighbors at risk of hunger, the Greater Chicago Food Depository has worked against hunger and expanded to address the issues that cause food insecurity and poverty. Their mission is to end hunger. To achieve this mission, Chicago’s food bank connects our neighbors with healthy food, lifts their voices and advance solutions that address the root causes of hunger. For more than 40 years, the Food Depository has been driven by a mission that puts the needs of our neighbors first. CBI partners with the Greater Chicago Food Depository, donating time and resources to this incredible organization.

Ronald McDonald House believes families cope better when they are together. They believe no family should have to deal with their child’s medical crisis alone. Their mission is to create, find, and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and their families. RMH envisions a world where all children have access to medical care and their families are supported and actively involved in their children’s care. With 380+ Ronald McDonald House programs, 265+ Ronald McDonald Family Room programs, and 40+ Ronald McDonald Care Mobile programs, they have been keeping children and their families together since 1974! Our CBI staff continues to volunteer and give back to the Ronald McDonald house – donating time to package care bags and volunteering to cook hot meals!

Sarah’s Circle was founded with compassion and the spirit of service. This non-profit is a safe, welcoming place for women experiencing homelessness. Through Sarah’s Circle, women are able to access shelter, food, showers, community, and more. Sarah’s Circle provides a full continuum of services for women, including housing, life necessities and support services – helping them permanently end their homelessness. Sarah’s Circle envisions a safe and secure home for every woman in Chicago! Last year, CBI raised $4,173 for this deserving organization!

They serve the people of God through works prompted by their charism: care for children, the sick, the infirm, and the elderly; including, pastoral and social services. The Franciscan Sisters of Chicago have adapted to the changing needs of society. The ability and need to serve continues to evolve and they are responding with new ministries in the areas of affordable housing, home health, hospice, and various community benefit services.

The mission of Marine Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped, toys and distribute those toys to the less fortunate children at Christmas time. Their mission is to improve the lives of those affected by domestic violence and the cycle of violence for future generations. Their vision is to create communities free of relationship violence. The Illinois Burn Prevention Association was created to raise money for children who have experienced a significant burn injury that required hospitalization. The Association raises money by hosting an annual golf outing and the generous support of sponsors! This money benefits the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance and its “Camp I Am Me,” where children who attend build self-esteem while learning to deal with their injuries.

Elim supports children and adults living with disabilities to lead their fullest, God-given, lives. Elim dreams big and impart those dreams in each individual they connect with – students, adults, schools, the community, and the world! Elim’s vision is to see those with disabilities thriving in their communities. They are dedicated to working to equip each student, adult participant, and community partners to make this happen (CBI being one of those community partners)! Elim hopes to create brighter, better days for all, now and in the future.

The Yard Foundation is the leading resource for firefighters and their families in their time of need! Founded with the simple idea of firefighters helping firefighters, The Yard Foundation has grown into a force of over 50,000 members united by a shared purpose. The spirit of firefighters supporting each other is what led donations of over $750,000 to the families of fallen comrades in Balitmore, Chicago, Detroit, California, Franklin, Irmo, and beyond! Their vision goes beyond firehouse walls – from cancer battles to providing mammograms for at-risk women every October, they have greatly expanded to touch lives near and far!
